Crime Takes a Dip in New York
1 min readCities often forget and have to relearn that active policing reduces crime, but the results leave little room for doubt. New York’s neighborhood patrols are rolling back deadly violence, despite the progressive groups trying to dismantle them.
The New York City Police Department on Wednesday released its year-end crime numbers for 2023. The trend should prompt cheers from beleaguered New Yorkers. Murders dropped 12% from 2022, along with a 25% decline in shootings. The uptick in safety occurred throughout the city, with fewer shootings in all five boroughs.
