VANDENBERG SFB, LOMPOC, Calif. — Just after 4:00pm Pacific Time today MethaneSAT effectively detached from SpaceX Transporter-10 that carried the emissions monitor into space. The groundbreaking satellite is designed to help protect the Earth’s climate by accelerating reductions of a powerful greenhouse pollutant, focusing first on oil and gas operations, a major source of methane.
